In order to use my artist research to improve my work, I will create an "artist response" to the artists I've looked at. This is my response to the work of Michael Landy, and his work on tiny plants and weeds that grow in cracks and crevices in walls and pavements. I studied some little plants growing in stones and walls.
To create these images, I first sketched out the basic image with a pencil, and then went back oer the image with a fineliner pen. This gave the images a nice clear outline, and I could get quite detailed with such a fine-tipped pen. I enjoyed drawing these, although they're botanical drawings rather than of animals. It was nice to draw these little often-overlooked plants as main subjects for once.
